Boyd told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm not pushing for a move, I'm happy here at the moment and I will be here until I'm told otherwise.
"My gut feeling is that I'll be here until at least the end of the season."
Boyd has been a key player for Posh since signing from Stevenage in 2007, but his current contract will run out in the summer of 2011.
Director of football Barry Fry says the club would like to avoid running down his contract, but will require a substantial fee.
The 24-year-old says he could be willing to sign new terms if Posh beat the drop this season.
"If it happens then it happens but I'm more than happy here at the moment," Boyd said.
"I won't be committing to anything until I know which league we're going to be in," he said.
"If we stay up then maybe we can talk about a new contract, but there's nothing to discuss at the moment."
Boyd saw his club record for consecutive appearances come to an end at 144 after he missed Saturday's trip to Swansea with a virus.
He should be fit to face Coventry at London Road this coming weekend.
