Peterborough United boss Gary Johnson says that he believes he has picked up a couple of gems in Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi and Nathanial Mendez-Laing.Ofori-Twumasi has signed a three-year deal at London Road, while Mendez-Laing has joined on loan from Wolves.
Johnson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Nathanial is a tricky winger and could be very, very exciting to watch if all goes well.
"Nana has played for England at youth level, he's a strong, quick defender."
Ofori-Twumasi, 20, is a product of the Chelsea academy and can play at either right-back or left-back, while 18-year-old Mendez-Laing has signed on a season-long loan.
Posh are close to completing their business in the summer transfer window with seven new faces having come on board.
Defender Craig Morgan has made the move to Championship side Preston North End, but Johnson expects Kelvin Langmead to prove an able replacement.
"It's nice to have a chairman who allows you to get players in before you get players out," he said.
"Sometimes you have to get out before you get in, but we'd already got Kelvin on board which is good."
Posh travel to Portugal on Thursday for a five day break at a resort in Val de Lobo.
Johnson has said it will be good chance to get to know his new players ahead of the start of the new season.
"The facility over there is fantastic and it will give us a chance to work all day, every day," he said.
"We'll rest together, play together and have some group discussions so hopefully when we get back they'll all trust in one another."
Posh will tackle Portuguese first division side Olhanese in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile 19-year-old striker Kwesi Appiah has been released by mutual consent.
He never made a first-team appearance for Posh but played 15 times for Blue Square Premier side Kettering while on loan last season.
