Peterborough V Oldham at London Road Ground - Match Preview

Kearns fit for unchanged Posh

Daniel Kearns has overcome a slight knock so Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson is expected to stick with an unchanged side against Oldham.

An ankle injury forced Kearns off late on in the 4-2 victory at Notts County last Saturday but the midfielder has trained this week and has put the problem behind him.

An unchanged team would mean a place in the starting XI for forward Lee Tomlin, who this week submitted a written transfer requestwhich was immediately rejected by the club.

Ahead of the game Ferguson, who last season tried to sign Oldham's former Everton forward Jose Baxter, said: "Oldham have two good strikers in Charlie McDonald and Adam Rooney, and Jose Baxter is well known to us as well. I saw a lot of him when I was in charge of Preston because we played Everton quite a bit in the reserve league."

Oldham's Baxter is a major fitness concern after suffering a groin strain in midweek.

With two goals already to his name this season, the former Everton striker could join David Mellor on the injury list. He sustained a hamstring strain in the home defeat to Walsall and remains highly doubtful.

However, James Dayton is expected to be fit despite also being forced off last weekend with a groin strain.

Striker Jonson Clarke-Harris could also miss out after damaging ankle ligaments against Derby in their Capital One Cup clash last week.
