The 21-year-old Posh midfielder played under Gannon at Stockport and he is hoping that his appointmet as manager will kick-start his career.
Gannon joined Posh last summer but has struggled to command a regular place in the starting XI this season.
"I can't speak for all the players, but he's given me a new lease of life," Rowe told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"I know I'm raring to go, even if it's just from the bench. I'm looking forward to QPR on Saturday.
"I think the lads are happier with the way Jim Gannon wants to play, so if we can do that we'll be buzzing again..
"We need to at least start fighting to stay up. It's a tall order, but I think we are capable of doing it."
