Peterborough centre-back Craig Morgan missed Saturday's defeat at Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury and looks unlikely to return on Tuesday.
Ryan Bennett is also out with an ankle problem, while Lee Frecklington and strikers Izale McLeod and Aaron Mclean are all sidelined with knee injuries.
MATCH PREVIEW
After winning the first of two crucial matches in their battle to stay up, Scunthorpe go into the second one knowing that another victory would be a big step towards Championship survival.
Manager Nigel Adkins insisted he was focused on "the big picture" following The Iron's recent defeat against leaders Newcastle. By that he meant the back-to-back matches against fellow strugglers Plymouth and Peterborough.
Phase one of the mission was completed when Adkins' side came from behind to beat Plymouth on Saturday and nudge the Devon club closer to League One. Now they are looking to dispatch a Peterborough side who are already resigned to the drop.
Peterborough achieved their biggest league win of the season when they beat Scunthorpe 3-0 at London Road in October. But while Posh's chances of staying up are slim to say the least, their opponents are two places above the relegation zone and still fighting.
