Cooper, who was taking charge of his first match since replacing Darren Ferguson in the hot seat at London Road, believed that Posh's performance at Bramall Lane warranted at least a point.
"We definitely deserved a point. It was a pretty even first half and I thought we were the better team in the second half," Cooper said after the 1-0 defeat to Kevin Blackwell's side.
"We looked quite solid as a team, especially at the back and in the middle.
"There was plenty to be pleased with.
"I'm more confident after seeing that than I was during the week."
