Andy Clarke missed two golden opportunities to fire Peterborough past rock-bottom Blackpool in a Bank Holiday stalemate.
The veteran striker failed to convert when presented with a golden opening in each half to leave his manager Barry Fry fuming.
The first of those arrived four minutes before the break when Clarke lobbed wide of an empty net from 20 yards after strike partner Clive Platt had pounced on a piece of defensive dithering between Mike Flynn and keeper Lee Jones.
And Clarke was again found wanting in front of goal when blazing over on the half-volley 12 minutes from time after latching on to a flick from the dangerous Platt.
The home side would have been punished for those mistakes had keeper Mark Tyler not pulled off a stunning point-blank save to deny Scott Taylor in the second half.
The prolific Blackpool forward collected a defense-splitting pass from Danny Coid and dashed past Simon Rea before seeing his shot bravely blocked by Tyler.
Taylor screwed another good chance wide of the target after a fine piece of play from wideman Martin Bullock.
Earlier Posh player-coach Andy Legg had failed to steer a free header from a Steve Thomson corner on target and both David Farrell and Curtis Woodhouse added to the display of wayward finishing from the hosts.
Blackpool keeper Jones did not have a single noteworthy save to make as the strugglers registered a first clean sheet of the League One season.
