Danny Crow's injury time strike secured Peterborough a 3-2 win against Macclesfield at London Road in a perfect response after boss Steve Bleasdale walked out 70 minutes before kick-off.
Complaining of interference from a Sky TV documentary featuring Ron Atkinson that is currently being filmed at London Road, things apparently came to a head with two lunchtime incidents. Bleasdale refused to elaborate other than saying; "I wont have four or five people picking the team. It's up to club owner Barry Fry how he does things but I was thrown in at the deep end and have given my best."
Bleasdale was put in charge following the sacking of Mark Wright during January and Fry and coach Andy Legg took over for the game in which Macclesfield started more positively with Kevin Sandwith firing over before Alan Navarro brought the best from Mark Tyler.
The home goalkeeper also used his legs to deny substitute John Miles, an early replacement for the injured Martin Bullock, and more pressure was ended thanks to Sean St Ledger's timely tackle on Marcus Richardson.
When Posh did begin to dominate, Macclesfield's Tim Deasy pushed away a Richard Logan shot but was let off the hook when the striker failed to hit the target from an even better opening created by Jamie Day.
Macclesfield were more adventurous in the second half and, after Matt McNeil rattled the bar, they grabbed the lead on 62 minutes when Posh failed to clear the ball after pressure started by McNeil and Miles drilled a shot out of Tyler's reach.
Former Norwich youngster Crow levelled with his 16th goal of the season on 62 minutes and David Farrell gave Posh the lead, heading in an 81st minute cross from fellow substitute Lloyd Opara.
Miles delighted Macclesfield boss Brian Horton grabbing an 89th minute equaliser but Crow had the last word, firing a winner in the dying seconds.
